Anti-Slip Plates FAQ's
What are Staircare Progrit Anti-Slip Plates made from?
Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates are manufactured from Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) and finished with a high-performance bonded grit surface. This combination delivers excellent slip resistance, strength, and durability while remaining lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Where are Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates commonly used?
They are ideal for stairs, walkways, platforms, ramps, ladders, landings, and access ways, particularly in environments where slip hazards exist such as industrial plants, marine facilities, water treatment sites, mining operations, food processing areas, and public infrastructure.
How slip-resistant are the grit surfaces?
The bonded grit surface provides high slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions, helping to significantly reduce the risk of slips and falls. Different grit grades are available to suit varying levels of pedestrian and light vehicle traffic. Tested to AS 4586:2013 Slip resistance classification for new pedestrian surface materials. Slip Test Reports by NATA certified laboratory are available on request, please give us a call or send an enquiry.
Are Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates suitable for harsh or corrosive environments?
Yes. FRP is non-corrosive, chemical resistant, and UV stable, making SPG Anti-Slip Plates ideal for harsh environments where steel or aluminium may rust, degrade, or require frequent maintenance.
Are the plates electrically conductive?
No. FRP is non-conductive, which makes Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates particularly suitable for use around electrical installations, substations, and high-voltage areas, improving overall site safety.
How are Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates installed?
The plates can be mechanically fixed to steel, concrete, or FRP substrates using appropriate fasteners. They can be supplied cut to size to suit new installations or retrofitting onto existing structures.
What maintenance is required?
Staircare Progrit (SPG) Anti-Slip Plates require minimal maintenance. Routine cleaning to remove dirt or debris is generally sufficient. The durable grit surface is designed for long service life, even in high-traffic or demanding environments.
