The Task
Staircare ProGrit was commissioned to fabricate and supply custom Staircare SPG FRP Trench Cover Plates for Transgrid Buronga Substation, providing non-conductive and non-magnetic insulating protection over electrical trenches.
Delivered three custom sizes (675 × 1220 mm, 730 × 1220 mm, and 820 × 1220 mm), finished with silicon carbide anti-slip grit achieving Class P5 and R12 oil-wet ramp slip resistance to meet high-voltage substation safety requirements.

Staircare SPG Solid Top Cover FRP Trench Cover Plates conform with:

- AS 4586- 2013 Slip Resistance Classification of New Pedestrian Surface Materials.
- 1657 – 2018 Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways and Ladders
Project Outcomes
All materials were packed, clearly marked to the installation drawings, and delivered to site in Buronga on schedule, enabling successful installation by Transgrid on-site team.
