The Task
For this project, Staircare ProGrit supplied SPG solid top cover FRP trench cover plates cut to size with silicon carbide anti slip grit for class P5 Slip Resistance, including lifting lugs.
SPG plate design included spans up to 1390mm with 5kPa load capacity. Plate construction included 38 x 38 square mesh, 50mm thick with 5mm thick bonded solid top cover, colour – yellow.

Staircare SPG solid top trench covers conform with:
- AS 1170.1 – 2002 Structural Design Actions.
- AS 4586 – 2013 Slip Resistance Classification of New Pedestrian Surface Materials.
- 1657 – 2018 Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways and Ladders – Design, Construction and Installation
Project Outcomes
The entire 84 panels replaced existing timber panels. Successfully installed by TransGrid on-site staff.
