The Task
Sydney Trains asked Staircare to provide a solution for Penrith Station Down Yard Rail Cross Over and Landing Platforms, helping train drivers safely exit cabins, especially in poor lighting and bad weather.
Staircare supplied fibreglass reinforced (FRP) sheeting type SPG 38 x 38 square mesh 38mm thick ,yellow with UV protection and heavy grit for Class P5 Slip Protection . The support structure incorporated FRP H – Beams and custom made FRP mounting pads to raise the walkway to rail level, eliminating potential trip hazards.

Staircare SPG Solid Top Cover FRP Grating Floor Panels conform with:

- AS 4586- 2013 Slip Resistance Classification of New Pedestrian Surface Materials.
- 1657 – 2018 Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways and Ladders
Project Outcomes
All materials were delivered to site with material and installation instructions provided to The Sydney Trains Work Crew, ensuring successful project completion.
