The Task
FL Smidth held the Design, Manufacture, and Install contract for the Northern Star 60 m Thickener Bridge at a new gold mine. Staircare Pro-grit was appointed to fabricate and supply the bridge floor system using Staircare SPG Solid Top Cover FRP Grating with anti-slip grit. Each floor panel was cut to exact dimensions in accordance with FL Smidth’s supplied drawings.
Staircare developed and implemented a detailed Inspection Test Plan (ITP), including pre-delivery floor layout photographs submitted for FL Smidth engineering approval. The scope included supply of 49 numbered and drawing-matched floor panels, along with custom stainless-steel SS316 J-Clamp fixings, delivering a fully non-corrosive and non-conductive bridge floor suitable for the highly aggressive site environment.

Project Outcomes
All materials were packed, clearly marked to the installation drawings, and delivered to site in Kalgoorlie on schedule, enabling successful installation by FL Smidth’s on-site team.
