The Task
Coles Fresh required a ladder and stair safety upgrade in its large Meadowbank Food Preparation Facility.
Staircare Progrit supplied custom made SPG ladder rung covers and SPG stair tread nosing, made from; composite fibreglass reinforced resin with silicon carbide anti slip grit for Class P5 Slip Protection, engineered to perform in hygiene critical areas.
They are suitable for high exposure to washdowns, saltwater and chemical cleaning products commonly used in food industries such as acids, alkaline and solvents.
Certification
Staircare SPG Ladder rung covers and stair nosing conform with:
- AS4675:2004 Design, Construction and Fit out of Food Premises
- AS 4586 – 2013 Slip Resistance Classification of New Pedestrian Surface Materials.
Project Outcomes
SPG materials were provided pre-cut, clearly labelled, and delivered for installation by the Coles Maintenance Contractor.
