StairCare Projects - IBM Business Centre - Ceramic Tile Stairs

The Situation
The IBM Business and Programming Development Centre's common area ceramic tiled stairways presented a slip hazard and required anti-slip stair protection in accordance with an Occupational Health & Safety survey.

The Solution
Staircare supplied and installed SC3 aluminium ripple trim stair nosing with black 12mm insert. The SC3 stair tread complimented the existing furnishings and was installed during night work, glued and screwed to 388 ceramic tiled stairs. SC3 achieved the highest slip resistance classification V - "very low risk" of contributing to slipping when wet. The product was tested to AS/NZS 4586:2004.
